The open lands of
Central Asia are still suffering the effects of three centuries of
Russian oppression. Based on a Chinese pseudo-historical documenta, and
in spite of their black hair and their slanting eyes, Kyrgyz people
believe to be the decendants of a red-hair group of nomads who
had the
misfortune of mixing with the Tartars.
